OUR STORY
Established in 2019, Capricious Productions is built on the foundation of transparency and morality in the music industry. We believe every artist should be paired with a label, managers, and producers who understand their vision and can help our artists achieve their unique goals.

Capricious Records is a record label designed by creatives for creatives. Artists who align with our values of growth, honesty, and passion will be approached to sign our label. Every contract is built uniquely based on the size of the artist, the artist's wants and needs, and is written in favor of the artist.
MEET OUR TEAM

Cassie Leachman
Founder
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Cassie moved to Syracuse, New York to study Television, Radio & Film, and Music Industry at Syracuse University. During her time in Syracuse, she was a studio manager and engineer at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, a member of the SU Athletic Bands, worked with countless talented musicians and engineers and started Capricious Productions.
“I’ve always had an affinity for all things music. I began playing guitar at 8 years old, and within a few years, I began playing piano, trumpet, singing, and writing lyrics and compositions. When I was 12, I knew I had to work in the music industry, and when I was 15, I knew I wanted to be a producer. I started playing shows at small venues and bars two years later and saw the disconnect between the different branches of the music industry. That’s when I knew I could change things, and the idea of Capricious Productions began.”

Cassie's Favorite Artists: The Maine, Grayscale, Taylor Swift, Stand Atlantic
Matt Farrelly
Co-Founder
Matt grew up in Wrentham, Massachusetts, and has always had an interest in music. He has played in several garage bands, marching bands, and drum corps, but his true passion is audio engineering and creative recording. Matt graduated from Syracuse University in 2018 with a degree in Political Science and minors in Accounting and Economics. Although he had just finished his undergrad career, he decided to pursue his dream and went right back to school. He received a master’s degree in Audio Arts in 2019 and has been recording and producing artists in Central New York since then.
Matt brings a combination of recording, mixing, mastering, and business administration experience to the Capricious team. Elevating artists and bringing out the most of their talent is Matt’s favorite part of the music production process, so he is thrilled to be a part of an artist-friendly production company.

Matt's Favorite Artists: Snarky Puppy, Kendrick Lamar, Pinky Floyd, Tool

Hannah Langtry
Label Relations
Originally from Corning NY, Hannah began piano lessons at the age of 3 and continued taking numerous instrumental lessons until she attended SUNY Potsdam for her undergrad and studied Communications and Music Business. From there, she knew that, instead of performing, she wanted to be on the back end of the music industry and help small and talented artists develop their art and career.
Hannah then attended Syracuse University and received her masters in Audio Arts in May 2019 and moved to NYC to intern at Heads Music, an indie label best known for signing Wyclef Jean. Now, she permanently resides in NYC and is the Executive Assistant for Richard Burgess at A2IM, the American Association for Indie Music.
